November: Something Nice!

Teagan loves to point out things that she has deemed "Nice!" and "Not Nice!" Examples of nice include ice cream (eye-heem), her favorite snuggle toy and Ming Ming from The Wonder Pets. In the not-so-nice realm are sand on her toes, changing her diaper and getting anything messy on her princess hands!

Luckily for us November 2010 included many things that were indeed nice! We enjoyed playdates galore, grandpa Gerry's 80th birthday, Rob & Jessica's gorgeous wedding in Destin, Florida (pictures in a separate post as this was too much fun!), Thanksgiving with The G's and tons of birthdays for family and friends. Here are just a few favorite memories as the month moved faster than my pregnancy brain could capture the moments on our camera!

Jeff popped over from The Riese family celebration to say hello!
Alex is so grown up with the grand parents!

Betty and Gerry get a true Thanksgving Dinner during their US visit!
Alex, Jen, Olivia and Jon - we love you guys for hosting us each year!
The G Family!
Rare pic where we are all looking at the camera!
Happy Thanksgiving from our family!
Melissa and Jen catching up before the feast
Teagan is absolutely smitten with her Auntie "Wiss!"

Teagan and buddy Lera on a playdate
I love this picture of Lera, Caleb and Teagan. The water table was a HUGE hit that day. Tea got soaked despite her smock!
Each month it is getting harder to capture my monkey on camera as she is constantly on the go-go-go!
Sweet Caleb
Lera and Natasha - two of our favorite girls!

Teagan and Kade's BIG SCOOP!!

They are going to be a BIG SISTER and BIG COUSIN in April 2011!!
Brian said no one would get this "secret" message (that I stayed up until the wee hours one night creating) ....but I knew my trusty readers would spot it right away! We are delighted and eagerly waiting to meet this little one!

October Days

I love October and don't want these busy days to end! We spent last weekend with Melissa and Kade and visted another pumpkin patch. This weekend and next are jam packed with festivals, birthday celebrations and Halloween parties. Here are a few of our favorite moments from this month with just ten more days to go!

I thought this pic was so sweet of Daddy & Tea on the wagon out to the pumpkin patch field. The sun was so beautiful and looked like a halo behind them.

Teagan's First Haircut

At seventeen months old, and with Daddy threatening to take matters into his own scissor-wielding hands it was time for Tea's first haircut! This was bittersweet as it truly marked the end of her babyhood for me. But the happy news is those curls which delight me so look to be here to stay!

We took a journey to Pigtails & Crewcuts with Auntie Melissa who proved to be the perfect videographer. I expected some resistance and even a few tears from Little Mouse but she was super happy playing with their train table then taking a seat in the 1950's style taxi cab. At the end she got a lollipop and her choice of a prize from the treasure chest. I knew immediately what my fashionista would go for - a bracelet!

P&C made this so special taking a photo and saving a lock of hair which is going into a special silver holder from Gram and Grandpa Kelly
Stylist Michelle explains she is going to use "a little drop of rain"
Checking out the cute boy in the fire truck next to her!

The Pumpkin Man!

Welcome to fall everyone! I love this time of year for its crisp, cool weather, warm and inviting colors, apple picking, festivals, corn mazes, pumpkin patches, and the gorgeous leaves here that change into vibrant reds, oranges and yellows. Fall also hosts Halloween and Thanksgiving, two of my favorite holidays!

Brian, Kade, Teagan & I had a great time over the weekend visiting a local pumpkin patch and corn maze. Tea was simply not in the mood for pictures but Kade was so sweet and let his Auntie capture a few precious memories from the day.

Brian and Kade in an antique train car

I love this little guy!
We did not mention Thanksgiving here...noooo
"The Yeader" (read: The Leader) of our family as we wound through the corn maze
I snuck one picture in of an unsuspecting Tea
Kade decided he is a Pumpkin Man and went out to the field to pick his pumpkins....

And then sold them to us in his store. But buyer beware: a baby pumpkin from The Pumpkin Man costs $50!!!!! Ouch!
More fall adventures coming soon......

Summer Days 2010

Finally! We are two weeks shy of September which can only mean one thing - relief from the Carolina's 60% humidity, temps in the 90's and 105 heat index! Inspiration to blog has been seriously lacking as I just seem to wilt in the summer months which started in May for us this year. Still, little Miss Tea, Brian and I have had some fun times and here are the pics to prove it! Friday night dinner date with Dad & Mom wrapped up with a trip to the park We celebrated July 4th with a parade and a celebration at Stumptown Park in Matthews
Kade and Teagan in their patriotic mobile!
A wave and a kiss to all she met that day
Little Kade still sporting his black eye from the fall down the stairs. Melissa tried to take a pic of him in boxing gloves and shorts but he was no willing model. Tea LOVES her new tunnel from IKEA
On the hottest days we've headed to a cool kids museum. Teagan loves the toddler room!
Doesn't this remind you a big ole Lite Brite from the '70's? How cool is that?
Chillin at Melissa and Kade's pool
A sleepy baby post her swim
There's nothing like Daddy pushing you in the swing before bedtime!
Now THESE are some great summer memories!
Our big girl, coming down the slide by herself!
That's all for now but we are gearing up for fall playdates, birthday parties and more so stay tuned!
